Elaine Mendoza
has focused on building and growing Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. (CMI),
the company she founded in 1990. Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. creates
and disseminates specific information that saves lives. Whether
it is through CMI's technical and life sciences support services
or its intellectual property and product development, CMI applies
expertise and advanced technology to make a difference in health
and safety. This innovative approach has led CMI to realize steady
growth and profitability all eleven years. In 1999, she and Nancy
Kudla formed Core6 Solutions, a joint venture between CMI and dNovus
RDI. Selected through a competitive procurement process, Core6 was
awarded a five year, $100 million contract to provide broad technical
support services for the DoD.
Born and
raised in San Antonio, Elaine has been fortunate to be involved
in community initiatives revolving around the expansion of educational
opportunities, health care and economic growth. She has recently
been appointed on the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care Board of Directors.
She also serves Alamo Workforce Development, Inc. (AWD) as Chairperson
of the Board and is the 2003 Chair-elect of the San Antonio Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Board of the San Antonio
Technology Accelerator Initiative (SATAI) and on the Laredo National
Bank Advisory Board. Elaine has served on the Board of the Greater
San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Express-News
Community Advisory Board. Elaine has also taken a lead role nationally;
appointed by Senator Trent Lott to the Commission on the Advancement
of Women and Minorities in Science, Engineering and Technology (CAWMSET)
and statewide serving on Texas Governor Rick Perry's Special Commission
on 21st Century Colleges and Universities.
Elaine's
family nourishes her enthusiasm for her business and the community.
Elaine, her husband of 13 years, Larry Gay, and their two daughters,
Contessa Nicole, age 7, and Francesca Gabrielle, age 4, are members
of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Elaine earned her Bachelors in
Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University.
